Panel alignment, does your truck......

OK, so im in the middle of a little "bling, bling, sparkle, sparkle" project here, and the bottom of my bed is not even with the bottom of the cab rocker panels! The bed acctually sits higher about 1/2 and inch. Just enough to totally screw this whole project up!!

Did Dodge just do this for _____ and giggles, or do i have a body mount issue????

I have a little bandaid fix for this if i need too but im inside for food, and warmth right now.

New cab mount bushings should fix this, if it comes close you may have to shim the mounts. Bed mounts may have shims that can be taken out also.

I agree.

The cab-bushings are rubber cushions.

Over time, they sort of collapse.

The bed is rigid mounted = no rubber to collapse.

Usually, a new set of cab-mount bushings will line everything back up.

Now would be a good time to invest in one of those Energy Suspension complete bushing replacement kits that have urethane bushings for everything in the truck, front to back, spring eyes, stabilizers, cab-mounts, sway-bars, anywhere there is old worn-out rubber.

Does anyone know the kit part numbers? I went to Energy suspension, but there database is a little either wrong or out of date, or doesnt carry for our trucks. I see the Ramchargers, and 2nd gens. butttt......

A kit for an RC SHOULD ( big emphasis on SHOULD, :-) )work, in fact you`ll probably have a couple extra. IIRC an RC has more body bushings than a truck. On my truck the bed is bolted directly to the fram (with a shim or 2 here n there). I have an Energy kit for an RC that I picked up for my ol 86 gasser and IIRC I counted everything up and determined that it`ll work.

The only thing to be aware of if using a kit for Ramchargers is that they have small half-ton axles/springs, and the spring-eye bushings and stabilizer bushings may not be big enough.

OK, im going to look into a bushing kit. I know I NEED sway bar bushings, mine are shot beyond shot! It just absolutly surprises me on the cab bushings though, they looked so promising, granted they are rubber, but also look relitively new 3 yrs max. ida guessed. But I like Poly better anyhow.

Soo.... what about the spring eye bushings, and sway bar? I'll make another post on this.
