hey, well i got the frame cleaned up motor was out and painted and new rims on the beast today, but now it's body work, any suggestions on how to line up my doors? im having troubles with doing that. way to big of a gap on the back side, where the door latches, and the very top part of the door is pushed in, but where the upper door hinge is it is even with the fender, any suggestions?
Does the hood fit good and have even gaps with the fenders. Is it deferent then the other side of the truck.
You have to play with it all to get the best out of it that you can it takes time.
I think the doors are very close to the A pillar top corner. Gaps back then where not that big of deal.
If your doing a show truck you can weld a welding rod to the edge of the door to bring the gaps together. Allot of work and the metal is thin on the Dodge

Sounds like the hinges need a bit of adjustment. How does the lower edge of the door sit in relation to the body. Stick out a bit maybe? If it does adjust it in a bit and it should fix the upper part of the door.
Fore and aft adjustment should be possible with the hinges as well.

Easiest way to adjust door is to loosen the top and bottom outside bolts a little, loosen the strike, then close the door, crawl inside and loosen the other four then go back out and pry it to where you want it wedge it into place the re tighten the 4 inside bolts. Open the door and tighten the 2 outside and strike. Make minor adjustments as needed

The rule of thumb is to align from the rear forward. The back of the cab is fixed. Everything forward is adjustable. Get the door where it needs to be. Then set the back of the fender to the front of the door. You may need to loosen everything from the core support to frame mounts, inner fender around the fender bolts, cowl bolts, bottom of fender to cab bolts, and fender to hood spring bolts to get the fender to move back to fill the gap since once you set your door the gap that was at the cab is now at the fender. It can be a pain in the ttub. Good luck.
Lately, my truck's body was on the same issue. I recommend taking the fender off and make sure the doors are properly aligned. You can also reinstall fender for them to match. Or probably you can take it to the dealer. By the way, this thread is useless without pics. would you mind to upload so that we can see it?
