lift pump
another lift pump shot 40.000 km . can one install a pusher pump to help out the new pump to make it last longer

Bummer. A pusher pump would probably work. May want to look at the Piers FASS system.
Do you run additives regularly in the fuel? The additional lubricant may help extend the life of the pump.
