what lift pump?

hello I just replaced my injector pump just after new years and got a low fuel pressure light put in ( i was going to get a fuel pressure gauge but i didnt really have the money and the shop said that they put in those lights alot and they do the job maybe ill put a gauge in later) the lift pump was still working thats not what caused the injector pump to fail. Then about three weeks later the injector pump died i guess it was a faulty pump and the shoped fixed it for free. So now everythings working good. but now when i step on it not to hard but kind hard the low fuel pressure light flickers some but its not on regularly. So i want to change it before i wreck the injector pump. Ive been reading what people use and some say the walbro pump and some say the fass.

whats your opinions on which is better pros and cons. and is it worth putting bigger fuel lines on. With a higher volume pump do you lose any fuel mileage.

thanks any thoughts will help

Yes it is worth putting on bigger lines if only to keep your vp44 happy. I havent noticed any loss in mpg, and i run the stock pump but it is relocated with bigger fuel lines

so you relocate it closer to the tank? so it pushes instead of pulls the fuel?

Relocating the pump down low reduces the chance of cavitation (if that's possible given the limited rise needed even with the pump in the stock location) and puts the pump in a better location on the pump curve. It also gets it out of a high heat environment to boot. Pumps (especially centrifugal types, but also most others) like to push more than pull. That's why most EFI gassers have the fuel pump in the tank.

I installed a "pusher pump" on the frame rail that lifts from the tank and pushes into the stock pump. I used a Holley Blue available at most performance shops. Before the Holley I put in a brand new stock pump, with the Juice on its highest setting I could pull the fuel pressure down to 1psi. Now it doesn't go below 14psi, its recommonded that you stay above 8psi. Whats your light set to come on at?

where are you taking your pressure readings at, the inj. pump inlet or the fuel filter?
99 24v replaced inj. pump at 78k due to lift pump failure.

Just get rid of the banjo bolts. The light won't flicker anymore. I have the same set up.
