Question Intake Removal/ Boost gauge install.

I am needing to take my intake off so I can drill and tap the manifold, but before I do that I want to know if I can just use rtv for a gasket or do I need intake gaskets? any help would be appreciated.

The gaskets are metal mesh. You can get one from a cummins shop, but they are re-useable as long as they are not torn.

You would be much better off getting a boost bolt from Genoes or Diesel Manor. You just have to swap bolts..

You guys are pushing the boost bolt, I'm down with the fact that it's good gear, but tapping is free, and for people like me who have multiple lines going in and out of the intake, it's easier just to have everything lined up.

That, and he probably has all the stuff to do it today, vice wait for shipping. I would not be able to wait to get it on, either.

Not an argument, just showing a different side.

I'd push a new intake... LoL Perfect excuse to install a nice free flowing one.
