gear oil

how many quarts of gear oil does the dana 70 take. and when i crack my rear what can i look for as signs of wear and tear, and what do i check to make sure its all good?

put a big magnet on the rear cover before you take it off and drive it a little bit...then take cover off and see if theres metall.....theres sometin to do

make sure that your ring gear doesnt have any sharp edges or grooves then its time for mew ring and pinion

3.5 qts. "Full" is 1/2" to 3/8" BELOW the fill hole. Extra usually winds up in the brakes.

Check for any side to side play in the carrier. Uses a small pry bar to move it back and forth. Driver side carrier bearings like to wear out with added hp. There should no play at all.
