What speedo gear in Gear Vendors?

I am trying to get my act together to rebuild my Gear Vendors and get it in the truck.

I have 3:54 ring and pinion, what speedo gear are you guys running in the GV?

I'm hoping all you guys from other forums will chime in too.

thanks,
mark

I haven't rebuilt it yet, just getting ready too. The Gear Vendoes people tried to scare me into not doing it and giving them $700 to do it.
I am a little nervous about trying to rebuild a trans without a service manual, but GV didn't want to part with one, so I am going to make educated guesses based on the AT's I have destroyed, I mean rebuilt!

Thanks Flash!
by the way, the only thing I don't like about the GV unit is the fact that it uses a "brand x" turbohydro speedo drive and gear....

method of determing correct drive gear
1 multiply engine RMP in direct drive by .015

EXAMPLE:4:10 gearatio with 31 inch tires corect driven gear =2667 rpm times .015=40 tooth

Early modes GV p-type overdraves were equipped with a 17 tooth dive gear and are uiltiplied buy .017
This model can be distinguished by the 2 o'clock position of the speedo housing hold-down bolt.

Hope this made sence and helps!

What you should do is bs them into beleving your going to be a installer in your area....or maybe you now of a trannny shop that could help you to bs you way into getting them into being an installer shop, then get the
manule web sight!

Good luck!

Mcmopar, i agree, only have had mine for several month's but still think it's a grate unit,High priced, but still worth it. that first step $$$ is hard to do!
