Angry Fuel Pump Leak!!

Hey guys ,
My fuel pump on my 92 diesel is leaking and I was wondering if there is a way to fix it without buying a new one. I have already checked with dodge and it is 200.00 for a new one. Any ideas?
Thanks

He's either talking about the lift pump or he left out a zero. usdieselparts.com has them for around $40 shipped.

Not difficult at all. If you've changed a fuel pump on a carbureted gas engine there will be no surprises for you.

Only one thing to add: if you're looking for quite a bit more power in the future you may want to look into a piston lift pump. They are quite a bit more expensive, but they won't starve the VE in the upper HP levels. However, if you plan on staying stock or close to it, the piston pump isn't worth it.

If the stock pump is still within spec, at what HP level should one generally go to a piston lift pump?

IMO, if you change injectors it's time for the piston pump.

I just installed my piston LP this last weekend and all I can say is WOW!! I practically tripled my FP at idle, went fro 6psi to about 15psi. Don't know what it is at WOT but i'm sure its more than 0psi. Before it would pull to about 3000rpms and pretty much that was it, now it'll pull to 3250 and probably keep pulling but I get scared and back out.

Just wish I would have put it on sooner as my IP is dying.

I bought mine through Cummins I spent about $170 for everything to convert to piston pump.
Look in the tech section, I believe all the part numbers are there.
