ridiculous egt
I'm seeing 1800 sometimes on my gauge. Had smarty , and got rid of it. Put truck back to stock still can hit 1800. Don't think its my injectors, truck isn't Smokey and idled great. Before I put my airdog on the highest I saw was 1500. Getting plenty of boost. Hitting like 37 with programmer and 27 without. It's funny too cause I always thought you get those high numbers when you were laying some soot, but my exhaust is clear at wot . Any ideas? Also can I run a single turbo w/o a wastegate?

Where your thermocouple is located will have a huge effect on the readings you're getting. Where is yours? Has the wiring to your thermocouple been shortened or lengthened? This will also effect the accuracy of your gauge.

Either your gauge is broken, or something's very wrong. If the trucks not smoking any more than normal and still driving the same, I hope for you it's the gauge. A stock truck will see 1,300 deg, but you have to work really hard to do this. At 1,800 deg for very long, your #5 piston will no longer be freinds with the cylinder walls.
Like mentioned, if you mess with the wiring on the EGT probe, it will affect the signal to the gauge.

I am betting thermocouple, how long does it take after starting to get to 1800 and does it get there at idle.Buy a cheap infared temp gun from a tool store at least it will show if you are way off with your gauge they are usefull for alot of things.

I can get it pretty high at idle when I rev it. It seems like the only time it hits 1800 is when I hit it and the trans steps down a gear. I relocated the thermocoupler yesterday and it seems as though its running even hotter now. It hits 1400 no problem if I give it throttle when the converter locks up. Hardly any smoke. I have that quadzilla vision that goes through your phone. I'm going to scrap that I just ordered an autometer. So we will see. The truck was a repo so I'm still convince it may have some upgraded injectors. I had a smarty on it and switched it to stock. So I don't know where this heat is coming from
