My 03s tranny has been acting funny since i bought it. It has the classic hangs in first and second gear b4 shifting issue. So after i had it for a while i thot i wld change out the gov pressure solinoid and transducer. Well when i dropped my pan i found that it had already been upgraded to the aftermarket gm style. So i put it back together and drove it. Heres where it gets interesting. It will only do the hanging shift when the tranny is up to operating temp, so needles 2 say it didnt do it much this winter with the cold so i didnt worry about it. that and i have found a little trick that really puzzles me.. when i come to a stop and it does its harsh downshift, if i put the truck in park for a few seconds i can then pull out normal and it will shift fine until few miles down the road when i start 2 slow down again it will go back to a harsh downshift and will hang up in 1 and 2nd gear again from take off... unless i put it in park which fixes it, and so forth and so on. Now heres something weird, when its getting ready to mess up when im slowing down the pedel will get stiff and takes noticabley more pressure to push down. This will occur untill i stop and put it in park. And now that its warm and doing this all the time i cant stand it and its rather embarrising when friends ride with me. Now a buddy of mine who works for the dealer said the tranny my need to be programed or relearned..idk bout this. So i am asking for help and advise from the tranny gurus about what cld b wrong and how i shld fix this. Thank yal for the help

Did you try a local trans shop you trust for their input? I have a local trans shop that did the transmission on my Mercedes and also my old 2001 2500 and found him to be trustworthy so I would explain to a good local shop what it's doing with them doing a test drive where hopefully it will act up, and see what they say.

No quick learn on that trans, I would check front band adjustment and Throttle pressure adjustment first.
