Throttle response goes dead???
Throttle response goes dead???
I haven't been on in a bit, but hoping y'all can help. Sometimes, usually when my truck is cold and at low throttle openings, my throttle pedal will quit working but the truck will still idle. It throws a code when this happens but I can usually just pump the throttle a few times and mash and power is restored after say 5-10 seconds. Kind of dangerous I know, but it's periodically done this for a bit. It seems to be happening more often these days as well. After a few key cycles or after work sometimes the engine light/code will go away, etc. Does anyone know what may be causing this?
sounds like an apps issue..
your truck an 04 or 04.5? IE apps on the pedal itself or on the IP..
either ways
we need a dtc...
try a soft reset on it...
remove the neg cables off the batteries to discharge any voltage in the ECM, then reconnected the cables, set the parking brake, and turned the key to the run position and slowly ran the pedal to the floor and slowly back to the top.
Shut the truck off, turn key back to run position, back to off, and then start the truck.
might need a reset..
if that fails, try checking all of your grounds and wires for any making contact that shouldnt..
long process, been there.... but thats a start..

Definately the APPS, I got mine from a source on here (do a search) instead of buying one from mopar and it was alot cheaper... Mine was doing the same thing, finally I got caught pulling out in traffic and had a dead pedal... that was the final straw of me putting it off... Took me about 15minutes to change out (I have the "bell crank" set-up)...

Drive by wire (IE: Apps on the pedal) didn't start until 05'. I have an 04.5 and the apps is on the engine.
