edge and throttle response

I installed my edge box(untapped) and there is a definatre difference in power, but off the line it is still a little sluggish. Throttle response isn't waht I expected. Will it get better when i tap the pump. Was wondering if I should have more throttle response. Also did all 98.5-02 autos have an hy35 tubo?
Thank you

Do you have the sub setting all the way up, if so then it is most likley the lag of the 24 valve, in my truck I floor it and wait for the box to hit then go to letting out

I believe it was the 2000.5-2002 trucks that have the HY35 sure way to tell is the piping from the wastegate if it is hard plumbed (metal pipe) it is a HY35 if it is rubber that is a HX35

Like 1st gen said, make sure the setting and sub settings are where you want them. If your truck is a manual, then you might be able to set the comp on setting 3x5 and not slip the clutch (untapped). Now if you have an auto, you might be able run it on that setting, but beware of tranny probs. Once you are ready to tap the wire, hold on, cuz the ride does change, along w/ egt's.

I ran my Comp (untapped) on 5X5 for two years.
Some of the early Injection Pumps are prone to failure when running a tapped wire.
Be careful.

I had an Edge EZ and I loved it...but, throttle response had about a 2-3 second delay.

However...I am now cured...

With a MAD ( Catcher ) ECM

If you get one....hold on...and no need to worry about killing the Injection Pump...

So I can use the comp on 5x5 without the tap. I thought all other levels were useless without the pump tapped.

I'm fairly sure the HY35 is a 9cm housing that was only offered in 1 or 2 model years in automatics only.......all stick trucks had the HX35 with the 12cm housing.....

Please fill out your sig so we know what you have.......it helps everyone help you quicker and easier......

The levels will determine at what RPM the timing /fueling hits.
With no pump wire, it's all timing.
Give it a try, You'll like it.

Yes mine is an hy35. What is the max boost I can get? I am just trying to get info right now.
So the comp on the higher setting is functionable without the wire tap. Also casn the catcher ecm be "stacked" with the comp?
Thank you

Your turbo will be slighty past it's limit for efficiency at 35 psi because of the 9cm housing........look around for a used HX35, (that should take all of 2 seconds at DTR! ) they will go very cheap as many people here are using them for door stops!.....the 12cm housing will really help......it will be an inexspensive way to boost efficiently to 35 psi......anything past that will be boost generated from super-heated air because of an overspeeding turbo......drive pressures will be too high and egt's will go sky high quickly.

Yes, the mad ecm can be "stacked" so to speak.........if you add a fueling box to it you are not really stacking because the mad ecm itself is not a fueling box but rather a replacement ecm with custom software.

There is only one solution I know of to cure the PATHETICALLY slow fueling of a 24v....

TWO WORDS>>>>>> MAD ECM
