1st annual diesel pickup nationals Englishtown NJ
Went to see the trucks at Englishtown. Overall, there was less than a dozen 1st gens there, at least that I saw. While watching the races, I noticed a familiar vehicle cruising down the track. Maybe you guys can figure out who this is....
Anyway, Very few 1st genners. I didn't realize that this was an "open" race day, and I could have run what I brung, but maybe there's next year.
In the mean time, since this was the first outing, and Big Joe Henry was there having a blast, we made the best of it. There was a "food cart" competition, but I wasn't hungry, nor interested. I'd say turnout was minimal, but then I heard nothing on the local radio, or T.V. about it, so word of mouth got several thousand enthusiasts, and about 300 trucks there, so it was a decent 1st shot, I guess.

Wow ! That truck was so fast, I could only get a pic of it in the pits...
There were a few other "oddities" there.
Like a 6bt cummins powered jeep
Or this international powered 73 f350 that should have been made...
or this seemingly lonely dodge in the pits
It was a rather inexpensive fun day in the sun and cool weather in NJ, surrounded by the sound of hundreds of oil burners in the midst.....

Wow nice pics T!
i got a total of 8 runs in yesterday, made it to round 3 in the bracket racing. was having traction issues so i dialed a 16.0 and i broke out with a 15.999 ....i would have beat a 12 second duramax because he forgot to launch in 4x4 and he spun lol.
Yes T you probably didnt even realize but the gold 3rd gen is my father, so that's a great father son match up picture. thanks

I had no idea that was your pop running next to you..
I looked for you in the pits about 12:30, but you were off taking a pee, or under the bleachers getting a little happy time with one of your lady friends....
Glad I was there to see you run....
BTW, I'll be purchasing a helmet sometime in the spring, and be racing you sometime next year, head to head, 1st gen VS 1st Gen, if we can work that out with the facility...
It's official..... I'm telling you TODAY I'm going to beat your **** in the race, and I'll officially lose in despair and humiliation at the finish line...sometime in '14

or maybe if just EFI live would finally get their tuner done for 03. OH well. at 8200 lbs. I cant expect miracles from it. notice no smoke at all! . I don't think there were eve n HALF dozen 1st gens there. That red 73 Ford had a clean PS conversion in it and was a CLEAN truck.
You were hanging out at the wrong truck - we'll always be near the FOOD trucks on that weekend.
The jeep had a 24v cummins in it and was a way bigger dog than my truck considering the weight diff. I think it ran 16.0 . It was a nice Jeeper tho.
The blue/silver 1st gen spent the whole day sidelined with major front brake issue.
My best was 15.028 on 15.03 dial, YA, that's .002 I ran out by and I was going to dial a 15.02. My truck is NOT as consistent as a bracket truck needs to be because I have torque Mgmt. and manual converter lock up I do mid track.
Thanx for great pics.
