TX DTR #8 - September thread
Well, we've sold the current one. And we've found one we want to buy, just waiting on the other party. They told their realtor they were a month or so behind on their mortgage, but we found out last week after we put in an offer that their lender started the foreclosure paperwork already. So the realtors are trying to get that turned around and hopefully get it moved into a short sale for us. So right now we're just waiting, but we know we'll be out of here on 11/20.
Hope they expedite the closing for you, Justin!
We're in the ironic position of being homeless homeowners - moved out of the old place and now waiting for the sellers to vacate our property in Denison...

update, Turbo went in, and the ol Dodge feels like a rocket ship now..

so far so good, now just need to adjust the wastegate a pinch to go from 31psi to about 40 ish. Now do I make the rod longer or shorter on the WG to increase boost?
I figured it was going to be a 2 hour job... not the case, had trouble with water lines, clocking the turbo and oil return line. there is no way I could do the fab work that some of y'all fellars do. I am to impatient.

Shorter Rod = Higher Opening Pressure
Longer Rod = Lower Opening Pressure
Good that the government extended the timeframe on tax credit for 1st time buyers, Huh?
I'm assuming you qualify (present house was Andreas)? Wonder how that works...now that your married??
RJ
I am really happy so far. that WG may be a PITA to get to and adjust though.
PS, congrats Justin, When I get ready for house hunting I imagine it will be a nightmare. I like my space..

Found out that glass crushing plant (where your stuff is stored) in on the grounds of the new Cardinal Glass Plant.
Interesting fact - The machines that make the glass are so expensive to shut down and restart later on, that the just keep making it...... and crushing it..... and recycling it, till sold!!
Sounds crazy, huh?

"That's a fact...Jack"!
Surprised it's not set at at least 40 psi??
One trick I've used is disconnect WG air tube at turbo and insert compressed air supply into it, to take pressure off the rod.
Then you can easily slip the rod end off (and back on) the actuator arm (on turbo). Then just turn the rod end in. But snap ring is a pain!
And helps a lot if you have tiny hands!

That's our issue. We've found a lot of nice houses, just not that many with a little bit of space around it. I'm tired of having only a small driveway and a small garage to park in. I need room for a few toys so I don't have to pay to store them or keep them all 3 hours from here.

So now I get to monkey around under there and try to get it fixed up.
I also had to jerry rig some clear 7/8th ID tubing on the oil return line. and if ya'll did not know there is quite a bit of oil that flows thru the turbo, I do not know GPM but its a hefty flow.
trying to source some tubing now.

Justin, good luck on your home purchase. Don't want to rain on your parade but these short sale situations can take months. Especially if its through one of the majors (Citi,Bank of America,Etc....) Good luck if its through one of them because it will probably take upwards of 6months. Hopefully you have a good agent that will help expedite things along.
That's what we've been hearing. It just doesn't make any sense to me. You would think that if someone were offering to give money to cover a note that wasn't being paid, they would jump at the chance. Maybe that's why the banks needed a bailout. We saw another house a few months back that was in short sale as well. It had 1 offer pending and 4 more offers lined up behind it. They said the bank was taking around 3 months to approve or reject each offer.
Not sure who is holding the mortgage right now. Their original mortgage was with DHI, which is the mortgage company for D.R. Horton Homes. Didn't see that it was ever re-financed, so it might still be with them. Our realtor has been working with the other realtor to try and get the lender everything they need to hopefully move this process along a little faster.

I just hope they don't dump the wrong box van!
