Tx #8 June Meet
We've been a pretty consistent 105-110 down here in Monterrey this week.
Nice and hot on Monday afternoon, then we had a t-storm pass through that looked like a hurricane. High wind, rain blowing so hard you couldn't see 100ft out of the building. Rained about 30 minutes and put about 6 inches of water on a bunch of the highways in time for our trip back to the hotel. Then the sun came back out to steam everything real well.

All it took was 1/2" of rain yesterday morning for us to get 45% humidity.... reason for the high heat index.
With all that rain, Justin, your index must have been in the "can't breath" range?

When I saw the sun coming out while we were in the hotel shuttle, I knew it was going to get bad. Straight from the shuttle into the A/C of the hotel and didn't head back out....didn't want to find out just how bad it actually got.
Almost forgot to mention....I saw something on the road here the other day that shows we've been going about this all wrong.
We buy big trucks to pull big trailers...but we've got it backwards. I saw this little truck that looked about the size of the Chevy Luv from back in the day (who knows, they might still make it down here). They pulled the bed off and put a gooseneck hitch on it. Then they had about a 24' tandem axle gooseneck behind it that was converted to an enclosed box from over the neck to the tail. About the height of a tall 5th wheel. If I had seen it sooner, I would have pulled out the phone and snapped a pic. The truck looked tiny under the trailer...but I guess he didn't have any trouble with being too tall and needing to flip the axles on the trailer.

Thats crazy!! Not looking forward to going back there! RowJ how much do you think 30 gallons of diesel weigh? I knew at one time but forgot, I never considered that fact that I had almost a full tank of fuel weighs cause i was almost full when i was racing I usually go on about 1/4 tank but i didnt know I was racing that night

I think their definition of what's safe and ours happens to differ!

Chevy Luv with a gooseneck....

Do you think you could hitch up to your 30 round bail hay wagon with one of those? Maybe give your little cummins a break.

..
I'll bet you that little Luv wouldn't go over 40mph though, that is the difference, with the right gearing you could move a house with a lawn mower engine, but your not going to get it done at 90mph.
It's plenty warm, if its over 95 its too hot. But for as dry as its been its good condition for a swamp cooler.

ITS SO DANG HOT, I took my truck to my buddys shop (corvettes of north Texas) to have the AC charged AGAIN. and found a leak on the high side schrader(sp.?) valve got it changed and it was blowing 40* the whole drive home on I30, and I35. So I hope this is the final leak to be fixed. There was no dye coming out of the evap drain hole which is a wonderful sign.
looked around with the UV light and my entire engine on pass side has a nice glowing haze to it from the leak. . .
geeze I hope its fixed, worked great today

Is that the place on I-35 between 635 and PGBT? I see that place all the time going past on 35.
