Just stiring the pot, guys! No serious criticism, intended.
And I also want to do the 3.73 rear end. But with no heavy towing.... really no need!
But after driving that 4.10 geared 96.... I want lower (bigger #). 3.73 and 35" tires = 3.52 actual.
Just a flea hair taller gearing that factory.... and a nice jump from my present 3.25!

I've always opted for steeper gears out back, unless LO range was handy, or CTD grunt waits to erupt under the skinny pedal... on gassers you either live with the RPM or install a **** with a bigger shift pattern, but tire swaps are a relatively cheap & easy solution for diesels.

Brian, I can't remember if your new truck is a stick? or if not - what converter to let that HTT spool with a 16cm housing?

You know, Rowland, the youngsters are still learning how to mix Viagra utility with testosterone panache... i.e.- a toolbox-festooned bed looks great with monster treads; a full exhaust is only OK with twin turbos; camper shells & hood deflectors break no known Man-Law if the truck is clean enough; heavy smoke (doesn't matter where it comes from) quite literally covers a host of wussification sins, and last but not least - I've never seen a heap yet you couldn't drive with pride sporting a "My other truck is in the shop" windshield decal.

No schedule posted yet for 2010. Ardmore Raceway started up last yr on the first Friday night in March. Gives you time to test how much of a boosted launch the 96 can handle!
Post when you're going.... I want to be there for that one.

In his signature. Georand Triple disk converter. I'd like to know also.
Bet it's fairly loose....... but if a high stall speed, it's really not noticable??

With RJ hating on the over the rails he sure has not picked on Mike much...

well with Charlie always chiming in about hating the cold. RJ with the chiggers and most recently toolboxes. I think MY hatred goes to gravel caliche roads. Living with the GF right now for another two weeks or so and she lives down about 4 miles of gravel road. and I HATE IT. I think I can feel suspension parts failing and wheel bearing dying, hearing the BFG's hold onto rocks and then flinging them into the quarter panels..

Just a little longer is what I keep telling myself.

rant over. carry on.

Does G.F. know her days are numbered?
Or did you mean New Mexico??

Mike's CTD is so uniquely "work" ....it's cool!
And all the haranging is just keeping the thread going! Want me to start in on red trucks?

Don't forget about Dallas Raceway in Crandall too! That's a nice track. Im sure they have some Friday night races or "test and tunes" coming up as well.

Not that I know of. But he was making posters for the neighborhood with the kids picture on it.

The police were impressed with the photo quality and they took copies to use for their file. Everyone was telling him to pass the picture around the schools with the teachers, someone is bound to recognize him.

She knows... I am trying to get into federal assisted housing to save some $$ and it should be available in less than two weeks. . . she knew me moving in was only temporary. I like where she is at 12 miles east of town ( that much closer to Texas ) but I can't deal with gravel roads.

Mike's trucks ARE amazing.

CR may get his knickers in a knot if you start picking on the red ones. My skin is thick.

I was trying to get my lil red goat in this months TOM but I think the latest submission may have me beat.

Georend triple, with the 4.10 gears and a 31" tire there are no spool issues...

Oh, and the stack needs to go on the 96...
So what to do with the exhuast? Dump it 90 to the ground? tip in front of Pass tire, regular exhaust, duals to match the 01? Straight pipe straight out the back?

Sick of the stack....
