Wow, learn something new everyday. I don't recall the conversation but if you had one.......obviously you should know! I always heard all of them built after 1/1/04 were the 600 series. Mine was built in June 04 (the engine) and went into service 7/31/04, the day after it arrived off the transport truck at McKinney Dodge.

Glad the cold weather is moving through now!
Forcast for the weekend, around here anyway, is looking as good as could be wished for.
Should be even warmer three hrs south.

Sitting here at La Guardia waiting on a plane and it's 56 outside. What's up with that? We had some snow on Saturday night, but it's all gone now. Figures it snows in Texas when I leave...I always miss out on it.

Yeah I know. My hours are all screwed up. I work the later afternoon/evening shift and by the time I finally get home, early morning is my "evening" so to speak. I want to unwind and get on the computer, watch the news etc.

Well since I am training rookies right now, we go to jail as much as possible. I am constantly "shopping" for calls that will likely result in an arrest (Family violence, shoplifters, whatever). We didn't get off until 2am this morning and I didn't get home till 2:30..........and I just don't want to go straight to bed.

I have looked at switching to the day shift.........I have plenty of seniority to go. But I can't stay at my station and keep weekends off if I do. I need those for my son. And, im not really a morning person any way........and I definately don't want to fight rush hour traffic coming and going....so what do you do? No matter what, it's a compromise somewhere.

Last night it was coming down in huge flakes in Northeast Dallas. Sleet first, then slowly switching over to snow. It was beautiful.

The wind was troublesome, but the temps were great.....if you are not working outside on a truck...

Brian,

Gosh I want to come down to Fairfield so bad. But I just don't know if I am going to be able to make this meet now. My son is in the band and he has a concert late friday evening. So I have to go to that. And then we are just buried in stuff to do......Sat. being my only other day off at the moment. And it's my weekend to have him. I am so far behind partly because ive been so busy at work and hardly get anything done during the week.

If I can make it down for part of Saturday I will. I may be the one looking at pictures of "Dom" eating my steak....

FWIW........My "Texas Themed" patio project has been coming along nicely. So I hope to return the favor to you and others and have a GTG again at my place sometime..........new grill, fire pit, and chiminea burning....and plenty of room at tables and chairs for some nice dinner...after grilling. I am in the process of enlarging my patio about 7/8 times with 18'' square blocks.

Shooting for early spring.
