Good question, most of our 2nd gen guys are inbetween the stages of need for an EZ.

As far as I know there was an adapter for the 02 and 01s but not from the 98.5-2000 to the 01 or 02.

What years does it work on (98.5-00, 01-02)? What power levels does it have? Such as stages 1-5, various horsepower/torque levels for each, etc. My brother has a 2000 model, and he is looking for a chip.

Ez has 3 jumper settings (like a hard drive) 45, 55, 65. The lower ones are to control smoke. There was one model that covers 98.5-2000, and one each for 2001 and 2002, however I have heard of adapters for use between the 01 and 02 models, but not the elder.

How much smoke does this chip put out? Any idea Matt? Even though I know you don't have one.

My dad does, puts out pretty good with a new VP and lift pump. I haven't got to see it, but my mom smokes people out when she drives it in Lubbock traffic. I my self have left a cloud taller than the truck for the extent of 4th gear that was thick enough you couldn't see through it for 2 seconds.
If I had mine with the Hot Smoke program on it will begin to match what my dad's truck can do with the EZ.

My 06 can leave a cloud in an intersection, about as tall as the signals and you can see it move across the street.....really thick. I didn't think it would do that, and I pulled out of Tractor Supply, going back to Dublin and I held it in 3rd gear long.....and looked back and laughed and got all excited.....didn't have any idea a stock truck would do that! lol. I was real impressed actually lol. I can do it very often, or could anyway. Took the truck into the dealer a few days ago. Got the valves realigned, fuel system and injectors cleaned and tuned, and ECM reflashed, new key....that cost $230....and a fog light lol. Cause they can't just give me the lens for it lol. But anyway, runs really sweet now, not sure if it'll smoke though. I'll def. do the valves and whole fuel system again at every 50k miles.....def. worth it. Wasn't as much as I thought either. I'm thinking about taking in the ranch truck to do the same.
