Tranny pan gasket

When I took my trans pan off of my other (1993) 518, i removed a trans pan gasket that I hadn't seen before.

It was a rigid steel pan gasket that was rubber coated. It was encapsulated in a coating that had ridges in it, and sealed the tranny up tight with no sealants at all.

Anyone know where I can buy a rigid pan gasket for my 518 ? I have to dump the pan, filter and I would like to install this type of removable / reusable gasket in doing so. I searched Summit racing, and they only have the cheapo cork or rubber floppy gaskets.

Most appreciated !

That rigid gasket sounds like the latest version from Dodge. They work pretty good, as long as the sealing surface on the pan hasn't been distorted, and they are reuseable. Part number is 2464324AC.

NJTman, remember to check out the thread in the sticky on how to adjust the bands and tweak the valve body a little bit, adjusting the bands is a must if you're pulling the pan.

Brandon,

You're an incredible dude. You must have some special x ray super duper, mind reading, visionary ability, as last night, I printed the FSM on how to adjust the bands in my trans, and actually highlighted the pages for the specs.

Man... you're freaking good....

Can you tell me the NJ lottery's winning 6 numbers. I'd really appreciate it... I promise I'll buy you whatever you want....

A brand spanking restored 1st gen.

A new cummins powered ram from the dealer..

Or a bunch of hookers to ride around in your new truck with you.

Just let me know...

Yeah, that's because they're not needed today, as they were back when we were growing up.....

For anyone who actually hasn't seen one of these reusable gaskets

And the Mopar filter.

I paid $20 for the gasket and $8 for the filter. The OEM filter seems really heavy compared to the aftermarket ones.

Don't know why.
