Zieman Goose neck brakes ??
Zieman Goose neck brakes ??
need a few thoughts.I am looking to buy a 1986 Zieman 22,500 gvw Gooseneck 20' deck 5' beaver tail with ramps the guy is asking $3100 for it but it has no brakes ,I have crawled over and under it and it really is a clean trailer ,all 8 tires look almost new and there is no cracks any where. deck is real good too, he used it to haul block and bricks on pallets, even the paint is in great condition , the only thing I am not sure of is, will I be able to get parts to repair the brakes ? I have been looking around but dont find any that look like them there like 12.25 x 3.5 with some kind of funky looking magnets and bolt on with 6 bolts . the vin tag has a scar right across the axle manufacture . is there any way to ID this axle brake set up?
Try contacting them with the serial number. This is what I did when i need the part number for axle seals on my trailer.
To clarify, I have a different brand then Zeiman, but the OEM was more then willing to help and even sell me seals.
www.zieman.com is there site.

They're probably Dexter or AlKo's. Parts for either are easy. If it needs a brake job tho, buy the whole backing plate with the shoes, magnets and hardware pre-attached. It's cheaper to do it that way than buy the pieces and parts.
man I wish someone around hear stocked this stuff so i could see.
I went ahead and bought it so if worst case I have to buy 2 new axles (looks like $1700 for 2 new 10k) .I think for the price I got it fer I will be ok I will still be under $5k for it
I was at a place yesterday, Johnson Surplus in White Piedgeon Mi. I was looking for a set of 3 3/8x 12 1/4 and I think I saw what you were looking for as I was looking for my size. Google them and give them a call.
By the way... $100 a piece for what I wanted, Saved me about300 from the best I could find up to then. (ebay)

Exactly what Chaikwa said.. Much easier than trying to just replace brakes. Also pick you up a break adjustment tool while your there. Plenty of good youtube videos on how to service
