Wiring Aux. Brake Lights

I am hooking up aux. brake lights in the bumper of my truck and it looks like the easiest place to wire in would be the 7 pin harness. Which wires are for brakes only(don't want directionals) and ground? Thanks.

Well to make turn your lights on and put a test light on the termials. If I remember right it should be at about 11.00 oclock looking into the conector.

Another way would to get a 7 pin to 4 pin connector. The wires are labeled I think.

Look in the harness for a single deaded ended wire marked something like CHMSL (center high mounted stop lamp) close to where the harness leaves the frame at rear, this is where they run the wire to be used when one puts a topper on and needs the high mounted stop light for it, with this wire you will need to run your own ground. Might stop by your dealer or a dealer and see if they will show you where it is .

Thanks Tank that was the perfect solution. The wire was easy to find, had about six inches out of the loom taped off. I grounded the other wires to a bumper mounting bolt with a big ring terminal. Worked like a charm.

I will post a pic this weekend. It's not the stock bumper if that's what your thinking, it's a Frontier Gear Diamondback. I ditched the back-up lights for red led taillights.
