Wired to charge?

On our trucks with the factory tow group are they already wired to charge the RV batteries when hooked to the truck?

Yes with the factory tow group the plug on the rear of your truck has a always HOT line coming out for your trailer battery. The diagram of the plug wires is right on the plug cap. PK

And it's also wired to discharge the truck batteries when the engine is off and the RV batteries are being used. The RV batteries are not isolated from the Ram's batteries.

Re:Wired to charge?

If used properly for the purpose intended it works just fine which is to charge the trailer battery while travelling down the road. If the trailer cord is left plugged in after travelling all day and you stop for the night to sleep everything will be ok, if you use the trailer power extensively after stopping then unplug the cord and plug back in the next day when travelling. This way battery is always fresh when you stop.PK

On my factory tow package I don't have power unless the ignition is turned on. Go figure :

Same with my old '99; haven't had a chance to test with the new truck yet.
