I have a 96 winnebego 32RQ DP motorhome with 5.9 cummins and 4-sp allison trans. and 4-wheel disc brakes. The brake pads are getting real thin and i was going to put new ones in. Any suggestions on what pads to put in that have good stopping power? Hopefully i can just replace the pads without touching the rotors. Has anyone done disc brakes on a motorhome? It looks just like the ones on a car but bigger. Also, does anyone know what the torque is on the nuts on 19.5 wheels? Thankyou,Rod.

 

they shouldn't be any differant to chg than a car/trk set for that year.
You should have the rotors turned. They will last longer and function better.
If you have a diesel in it and use it regularly, you may consider installing a PacBrake to it.

 

What is the chassis? Chevy P-32? Osh Kosh?

 

Its built on a osh kosh chassis which is now freightliner.The unit has an exhaust brake on it that is ineffective due to the non-lockup 4-sp allison. Where do you go to get brakes? Winnebego or freightliner?

 

I usually get my stuff from Napa, but when it comes to those things, my local truck parts shops are usually helpful.

It may take a couple of phone calls to get all the possibilties figured out.
