Wild and Crazy loads on the highway, what have you seen?
So I have been doing a lot of driving with the new job and I have see,
(A) a trailer truck, flatbed with ONE(1) chain on the flatbed...started at the front of the trailer and went to the back. The links were almost 2 feet in length each!!! It was just kinda piled on the bed and had a bunch of tie down straps over it.
(B) coming back from Clarksville, TN I saw a trailer that was at least 100 feet long and built like a cage. Inside of it were two of the biggest propellers that I have ever seen. Each one was as long as the trailer(again, at least 100 feet) I figure it was for those 200 foot wind turbines they are building somewhere.
Dumbest people
(A) a guy, while I was doing 70mph, passed me in the fast lane. No big deal right, well it was'nt except for the fact that I noticed the donut spare on the right front wheel, and he did not pass me slowly.....more like whooooossshhhhhh!!!!!
(B) Could be considered funny as well, was amazed the truck was'nt pulling a wheelie when he took off from the stoplights, and my favorite idiot! Ford F150 with a 14' trailer(tandem axle) with a New Holland 655 skid steer loaded right up front. Ok, no big deal.....he was loaded pretty heavy, I'm guessing the skid steer was pushing 6000#'s or better. I start to pass him and glance over expecting to see a frame mounted hitch.......
What's that!!! its mounted to the BUMPER!!!!!! Is a rear bumper supposed to have a downward pitch to it?? Cause this one did!!!
So what have you seen.....actually this has been in the last two weeks...can't wait to see what lies ahead!!

How about a Taurus pulling an F-150 with a hemp ROPE down the interstate during rush hour traffic?
... and it didn't look like either driver was likely to have insurance OR a green card!

Pulling into one of my stops there was this lady who was half in her car and half out. I said self this cant be good and the lady dug around under the windshield wipers and pulled out a wire with a button on it. again self said rohroh custom push button starter
At my morning Safe Way stop there was this lady living in her step side Chevy that was lifted like 12''s with more money in tires and wheels that she has in all the cans in the back of it. The best part is the rear bumper was a huge i mean huge laminated wood beam with some of them fancy broom mud flaps.
best trailer had to be the subaro legacy pulling one of them atv trailers with a ton of hay on it.

Around here I just get a kick out of the Old primer cars with more dents in them than I can count (not to many I went to public school)... Cars can't be worth more than a couple hundred dollers if that...
They have 2K + in rims and tires on them and a stereo you can hear for several blocks...
also saw a guy several months back pulling 3 small cement mixers each roped to the next at 70 on the freeway...

Well I myself was moving a friend from Big Bear Lake area here in CA up north to Santa Rosa, and we were going north through the Grapevine (CA people know what I am referring to, but all you others who dont its the mountainous stretch of highway going north out of LA or south into LA) and I was loaded with a minor load in my bed. We were travelling at about 70 MPH and it is Friday evening traffic, and out of nowhere some crazy $!%# in a lifted excursion flys by us (me, my friend, and girlfriend of the time), towing what looked to be a 38' boat.
I was doing 70 MPH, and he passed me quickly. Do not have any clue where he was taking what looked like an ocean faring boat, for he was heading away from the ocean. We were all expecting to see a large accident sooner or later, because it looked as though his dumb @R$# was going to lose control any minute.
Just about the craziest and stupidest thing I have seen thus far.

On my way back from glamis about two weekends ago i saw a dodge dakota with a camper in the bed not a camper shell, he had one of those portable apartments back there. not only that he was towing a 22 foot enclosed trailer. Retard.
Man theres so many people here in CA we will likely see more idiots doing these stunts than anyone else on here
.
Hmmm. Where to start.
How about a 5th wheel rv, modified with a couple of bars of angle iron to be a bumper pull trailer. And it was pulled by a tired Ford and the bumper was about on the ground.
Going down I-10 once, we saw a flatbed 18 wheeler hauling several large spools of cable. They were wide spools, so imagine them sitting up on end, so now they became tall spools. As the truck went down the road, the load rocked back and forth and on several occasions, the wheels on the high side of the trailer would come up off the ground. Sometimes a foot. I stayed behind just to see it wipe out, but it never did.
Of course I do live in Grimes County, Texas, so there's really no telling what you'll see going down the road on any given day.

this was a once in a life time.. driving behind a roll back with a car on the bed and one on the wheel lift pointing backwards with a person in the driver seat (of the car on the wheel lift) not just any person but a little old lady had to be like 80 years old. watched as rollback turned right into a car lot and she tried to help by turning left and smashed into a telaphone pole. easilly dumbest thing i've seen on highway.
1. A Ford Ranger on I-10 westbound between Houston and San Antonio pulling a 28' or so 5th wheel, rear axle on the bump stops and struggling to make 45 MPH with smoke billowing out from under the truck.
2. A 3/4 ton truck on I-40 westbound in Arkansas towing a 30' 5th wheel which was flat-towing a Jeep Wrangler which was towing a fishing boat.
Maybe they were both headed for California!!

Mini Van pulling a 30' or so tt. Loaded with family and all, goin 40 in a 75 in the left lane while eating. Sware that guy was gonna kill his whole family.
Now, I'm just waiting for someone to reply "Hey, that was me!" or "You saw me???"
But I'm sure there isn't anyone like that on this site!!!!

Heading up I95 north of Daytona Beach in Florida in my truck and trailer came upon an old RV towing an old Mercedes sedan on a tow dolly, rear wheels down. Puffs of smoke were coming from under the hood - driver was oblivious.
Pulled over up ahead, put on my strobes, grabbed a fire extinguisher. He pulled over. Looked puzzled. Now flames were coming out of the Mercedes under the hood. He was more puzzled.
Popped the hood and put out the fire.
He was heading back home to Canada. He said he had the engine running in the Mercedes as he figured this would keep all systems cool, as it is was a rear-wheel drive car. Obvioulsy....he made a tactical error. The Mercedes had an automatic transmission.
I suggested that he consider putting the Mercedes on the tow dolly backwards and locking the steering wheel - of course he couldn't start the car now because the engine compartment (and all the wiring) was melted.
One wreck being towed by another......
The puzzled look on his face was worth the cost of replacing the fire extinguisher. I left him standing on the shoulder of the road - I wanted to be IN FRONT of him on the interstate....
