I saw an oversized load, was a huge propane tank to be exact, somewhere around 95 ft. long or longer, probably 12 ft in diameter. The driver is somewhat at fault, but the route laid out for him from the state took him into a small one 4 way stop town and up a county road. He wound up not being able to make the corner and got stuck next to a power pole. Tied the center of town up for 4 or 5 hours and the power company had to come in and pull the pole so he could get out.

I am the manager of an equipment rental store and the other day a customer took a Bobcat T300 (10000 lbs + trailer) with his f-350 no big deal. He returned this same machine with his wife's ford explorer.

Ok, i didn't actually see this but i was told about it by both of the people who did it. I don't think they took it on the highway like this though.

A Chevette with the hatch open & a boat trailer hitch sitting inside.
One of the drivers buddies was holding the trailer tongue to keep it from falling out of the car.

A liquid propane tanker being closely followed by a liquid oxygen tanker.

Wasn't sure whether to follow really close and hope to be killed instantly or park for 15 minutes to let them get far enough ahead.

Daggone. A Bobcat T300 is no joke. Those suckers are heavy. I would think the trailer would destroy a ford explorer, that's basically like trying to pull it with a ranger sized vehicle. Ain't no way. The DOT would have put the SMACK DOWN on him here in MD. With a resounding, echoing, Ka-boooooooooooom.

I can just picture it, if you moved the bobcat forward or backward on the trailer, you could either raise the explorer off the ground, like a fish on a cane pole, or you could grind it into the pavement.

I was going through Texas on I-20, headed East. There was a bunch of people going really slow in the slow lane. A woman (running her mouth on a cellphone) darted out of the slow lane into the middle lane to pass. Since she was not paying attention, she did not notice the 18 wheeler in the middle lane about to pass her and the rest of the traffic in the slow lane. The 18 wheeler swerved off the road into the median, fishtailed in the grass a little, got back on the road after he was safely around the dumbass woman, and kept on riding. I wanted to run her off the road, stick that phone up her edit, and beat her like Rodney King. I'm sure the 18 wheeler driver agreed.

Then, we got to the source of the original slowdown...600 mexicans in a van towing a chevy dually. Hooked to the dually was a car trailer...with a car on it. All going about 40 mph. They were just a grinnin' and a smilin' at everybody as we whizzed past. Reason number 4,238 to rid ourselves of illegal aliens, and EDIT from ANY country.

Yesterday I-25 North of Denver 75MPH speed limit passed a Ford Ranger FX4 extended cab pulling a fifth wheel toy hauler which is not necessarily a trailer with a small tongue weight, and the trailer had to be at least 30 feet.

I didn't see it on the highway but last summer, while out on the lake with some buddies. We watched a 2004 Ford Escape 2wd try and pull about a 26 feet boat up a steep and very wet boat ramp. The great thing about it was that they had two people jumping up and down on the tongue of the trailer to try and get traction. They finialy made to up after some pointed out that it was not the back tires spinning but the front tires so the two people jump on the front of the epscape and it slowly went up the ramp. I wish i woudl have got some video but left the camara in the bronco.

how about a mid 70's chevy half ton pulling a tree up highway 60 going north out of Enid Oklahoma... the tree was NOT on a trailer of any sort, directly on the road. At least he was keeping up with traffic, the tree was about 40' long , not really sure where he found a tree that big in oklahoma though.

That just might have been a stolen boat you saw!

I recently saw a guy towing a 30' 5'er with another tandem axle car hauler being towed behind that...with a 1/2 ton Chevy on the highway at 65mph!!

when my dad was young, they took a calf to the auction in the back seat of their convertible.

i saw on i-35 headed towards laredo a box truck with a car in the back...partially hanging out.....pulling a flatbed truck (one of those nissan or whatever.....small cabover truck) with a another mini-truck on its bed.
