Used alluminum stock trailer.
Re:Used alluminum stock trailer.
I agree with srigs, horsetrailersonline is the best web site for your search for stock trailers. Have good truck info also. Also have most manufacturers websites are also posted there. You are on the right track in going with aluminum. The weight savings are worth the extra expense. Good luck.

Re:Used alluminum stock trailer.
I have had 2 metal Gooeseneck brand pipe cattle trailer and now this Featherlite Alluminum the money is well worth it. I could of have brought two 24' metal for the price I paid for my 24' Featherlite but the Alluminum is well worth it, I don;t have to worry about rust and on the metal is rust easy if you don't keep the inside of the trailer clean.

check my website out for pics of my trailers that I have had at
www.geocities.com/palmerlivestock

I hear ya, alluminum is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. Steel trailers just don't last. A couple years and they look terrible, paint peeling, rust starting, stone chips and the whole bit.

Have any of you had anything to do with Exiss trailers??? Looked at these last week, considering getting a new 20' gooseneck. They seemed like a decent trailer and the price was very competitive, so long as you don't want alot of options. I'd like one 8' wide but they are just too expensive. mthe 7' will have to suffice.
My main gripe with aluminum trailers is the way that the welds start vibrating apart, after a couple of years.
Does any aluminum trailer manufacturer make trailers with all steel neck structure with aluminum body??
The cut-gates and butterfly back doors should also be made of steel; as, aluminum doors are quite flimsy for a stock trailer.

I like a barrett aluminum trailer, the corners are riveted on them instead of the normal welding & it lets them have some flex w/out breaking welds, I think?? the Wilson & EBY trailers are built the same way as well, neither are cheap, but for longevity & holding up in off road conditions I wouldn't go any other direction, I'm still a little partial to a Stoll pipe trailer though, yeah they rust, but if taken care of they offer many years of great service, I've owned two myself & my family has owned about 1/2 dozen, & my part of the country is literally full of them, they really are hard to beat, (several gooseneck brand pipe trailers as well, also an equally well built & tough trailer) for the $ you may wanna look into a good steel trailer depending on how often & where you plan on using it, if you're gonna be off the beaten path alot while loaded I'd probably lean towards the steel trailers, but that's just my opinion???? hope it helps some, Dusty
