I'm with Pat. I like the TT, and an 8ft bed for all our "stuff". Be it quads, bikes and grills, firewood, secure storage on the wifes shopping trips to the big cities...
No problem with pulling a tt, esp with the tow vehicle being a long bed quad cab. lots of stability.
But, get what you want other wise you'll always think "what if"
Enjoy it when you get it.

Well it looks like I made up my mind.
We just bought a 1999 Kit Companion 252TX, it is in excellent condition. I also sprung for the Equil-i-zer 12,000# hitch, I know I didn't need one that big but the dealer gave it too me for $400.00 so I couldn't pass it up.
thanks for all the info guys.
I will get pics up later.

dctoner,
I think you will be happy w/ the TT. RV's are like most other toys in that there is not "perfect" choice. A 5er is better than a TT for some things but not for others. I have owned both. The 5er was a joy to tow and back into tight places. We started remote camping - mostly in the sand dunes but also in the mountains. We were not able to get the 5er into the places we wanted to go. The terrain is just too rough. The 5er would smash the side rails of my truck. We sold the 5er and purchased a TT toy hauler - fill it up w/ 4 quads and can go just about anywhere!
So, my opinion (for others who may be interested) is it depends on the type of camping you do. If you never remote camp - that is you only do campgrounds - then I'd buy a 5th wheel toy hauler. If you remote camp - even some times - go with the TT.

The only times we don't remote camp is for family reunions, other than that we are places most people won't go. The rougher the terrain the better
