Transmission concerns
First of all, I see already that this site is gonna be addictive! It's awesome. I have a new 07 3500 with the 6.7 with an automatic. I have noticed when it's under a load it will shutter or shake for just a seconds when starting off. A friend said his done the same thing until he got a few miles on it. (he didn't say what a few was) I now have 17,000 miles and it doesn't seem to be getting any better or worse. Have you guys experienced this?
Maybe it's axle windup??? I had a Ranger that did that and the problem was the grease that the factory put on the yoke dried up which lead to the windup. I put some moly grease on it and fixed it. Just a thought.
That makes sense then. When unloaded there is slack between the yoke and driveshaft because the grease is dry or not much there. When you put a load on the driveline, you can't feel the slack because it's putting the power to the wheels...make any sense? I'm not real good at explaining things. Anyway, I'd take the driveshaft down and pack it with some moly grease and see if that didn't fix it. If not, what did it hurt to try?
you put weight on it and it stops...your carrier bearing is too high
