Trailer tire air pressure

I recently put some "G" rated tires on my 5er. These replaced some "E" rated tires that were original. My question is that these new tires have a much higher load rating at a higher PSI (105), so how do I determine how much pressure I should inflate these to? I aired the E's up to max cold pressure but have no clue if I need to run the G's at max cold pressure or what. I have them at 90# right now but have not pulled it more than 2 miles with them. Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Go to the Goodyear Tire Web Site. They have a chart there that roughly tells you were you need to be for inflation based on weight. Don't include the total trailer weight, just the weight on the axles. (for G rated tires)

Here is the link. Its hard to find. http://www.goodyear.com/rv/pdf/rv_inflation.pdf

Go down to 235x85x16 and follow it accross for single tire application. After you pass the 80 psi rating, you'll be into the G Rated tire. If you know your axle weight (Each) Find the weight and look up for the inflation pressure. Adjust as necessary.

If you have steel rims, you should be ok for the max rating. If Aluminum rims, there are two types. One will not work for the max. Usually you can tell by the stud size on the hub. 9/16" is what your looking for. 1/2" are for the 3000lbs rims.

You can select the minimum pressure to support yor trailer or go for the maximum pressure. I personally use the maximum tire pressure according to the lowest of maximum tire load or tire pressure. And I no longer use trailer tires.

Thank You Sir!!!!! That is exactly the info I was looking for. Now, I have to check on the rims as they are aluminum. I did get the upgraded axles as part of a suspension package so I'm hoping that the rims are matched accordingly.
On a side note, I am hoping to leave out this next Monday for 5 weeks and a few thousand miles, that is, IF...... I can get my truck running right,... but that is a different story. Again, many thanks!!

If your rims are rated for it, I would run the max. Unless you weigh each tire, you have no idea what the weight is and the appropriate air. Running max will reduce rolling resistance and give slightly better mileage. There will be no question of under inflation. I believe the G's are 110 psi, as I have them.
