toy hauler/travel trailer DOT regs
long story short, my brother in law came into a insanely large portable ice fishing house. its 21 feet long by 10 feet tall. it sits on some real dinky wheels and axles. We have a work trip to alaska coming up that was going to require we ship a LOT of gear, which was going to cost us a ton of money, we figured we could convert the ice house into a travel trailer and use it as a base camp when we get to AK (it has four beds in it) as well as a trailer to haul all our gear in. The problem is, I don't know if this thing would be road legal to get us all the way to AK.
is there a site I can go to that lists the regs for a travel trailer/toy hauler? or does anyone know the basics off hand?
thanks for the help!

The DOT (FMCSA ) only regulates commercial vehicles . Your concern is with each state you pull through . As haulin-rv said , you haven't given the most important dimension - the width . Many state roads are limited to 96" . Over 102" wide will require permit . In some states if you have a 102" RV with awnings they require you to have a permit .
Be sure to check for narrow lanes on construction enroute .
