Towing for a friend
A friend of mine has asked me to go with him to south alabama to get a truck one of his relatives has given him. Apparently, it is pretty much a lower level show truck.
Do yall think I should have something in writing to protect myself in the event of damage to his truck due to an accident or something similar ?

If you have insurance, you should be ok. What's the truck worth? Does he have insurance on it? I bet he does. So you're probably ok...or you can chek with your insurance company too.

Ask him if he has insurance on it. (I wouldn't move it if it didn't) Tell him if you get in a wreck your not responsible for it. As long as its not for hire your insurance should be ok.

Yes, do that ^. Make sure he has it insured, and have him call his insurance company and have the insurance company verify it will be covered why "a friend" transports it by trailer. In my experience, the insurance companies have no issue with covering a vehicle during trailer transport.
