Towing a dump truck

Im lookin to tow my dump truck to kentucky. Is it too much to ask my truck to pull it (#16,000) plus a tandem dual gooseneck trailer for about four hours. There are some pretty steep hills. Also what kinda fines am i lookin at. Thanks

You want to tow your truck to Kentucky....your profile says your from Kentucky?? As far as the tugging that much...I'm sure your truck can do it.

I towed my 14,000# fire truck on my 6,000# gooseneck deck-over NJ to FL - the rig was about 30,000 all-in. She did fine - I was "gentle" with her. The trailer is rated @ 20,000#, and 25% of the trailer & load (5,000#) was on the truck - I was a little over on the truck GVWR, under on the trailer GVWR, under on the GCWVR, and all axles were under their ratings. Mine is a 3500 - you have the 6spd - but no exhaust brake - make sure you go down the "hills" in the gear you climbed ! Be careful.

I could be confused, but I'm pretty sure that at 20,000lbs of trailer and approx 10,000lbs of truck you were way over your GCW.

KY Department of Vehicle Enforcement is TOUGH and they patrol a lot . Do you feel lucky ? You are looking at mega fines and ending up parking the trailer and having someone else haul it .
