Towing a DUMP TRUCK!

I saw the most amazing thing today.... It was a 2nd Gen 3500DRW with a flatbed and stacks pulling a full size Kenworth Tandem Dump Truck on a 40ft flatbed gooseneck! Talk about a load! This was no small dump truck either, it was a full size, long nose Road Tractor with a C-12 CAT and Dump bed... These cummins impress me more every day. The funny thing was, he wasn't letting any grass grow either, he was going up a pretty good hill on a 2 lane road running 60mph!!! AWESOME!!!

I would have given anything to have had a camera phone right then... He towed it about 60 miles so far without rear-ending anybody so I'm assuming the brakes worked

[***EDIT***]thats insane. If it was a triple axle, which they usually are, a regular truck is about 17K, now add on the hyrdraulic,s dump bed...**** thats just an enormous amount of weight. Hope he didnt have too much a hard time braking.

How about loading that thing on the trailer? If it had to be towed it must have been dead, so I wonder what kind of winch pulled that monster on the trailer?

your mission is to go and find that dude, find out where he lives, ask what mods and take pictures! you have 24 Hours!

why can't everyone be on the dtr... this would make it so much easier lol

Kind of a coincidence -- I saw a Dodge CTD towing a local oil tanker truck on a flatbed gooseneck this afternoon on my way home from work -- it was one of those old low-front cabover jobs with a dual rear axle setup and fuel oil delivery body. I didn't see it very long, as he was coming at me on the hilly part of the highway, but I think it was only a 3/4 ton srw 2nd gen Dodge! I was impressed!

I've seen the Dodge running around a few times and I've never seen it smoke at all, and the stacks are not more than a couple of months old. I'd say its probably stock with stacks if I had to guess. If I see the guy I'll be sure to ask if it is. I think the dump truck had a bad turbo and would idle itself onto the trailer but wouldn't drive down the road...
