Towing behind a motorhome

How can I tow a 2WD truck behind a motorhome ? I have a nice set of towbars with all the attachment but I don't want to disconnect driveline everytime.

Towing in N is not possible or it will destroy transmission.

Truck is a 2007 Chevy 2500HD

With an automatic transmission and 2wd, there's no way to flat tow it without disconnecting the wheels from the drive train.

How does people do when you see a fwd car towed or other vehicle ?
I see many Mhome haulers using all sorts of vehicles mostly 2wd or fwd.

what is the issue with the tranny while under tow. ?

would it be possible to leave the truck running at an idle or high idle while being towed to keep the pressure up in the tranny?

just curious.

On some vehicles the transmission will not be properly lubricated even in neutral. There are some kits that curculate oil when towing, I would be too chicken to try that. My dad went thru that when he had a motorhome. There are certain vehicles that can be towed all over with no problems and some vehicles would catch on fire after a while. A RV dealer would have a list on vehicles or a list of oil circulating kits.

Check these people out. Remco Towing They make a remote dirveshaft disconnect so you just pull a **** to disconnect the driveshaft. I don't know if they have one for your 2500 but it's worth a shot.

That is a heavy vehicle to pull. There is a list of vehicles that can be pulled 4 down with trailer life. Other than that, Remco, trialrer, or tow dolly are your options. Towing in neutral is not an option, it will destroy vour tranny.

I saw the Remco too, that looks very interesting.

The issue is my workplace, they bought a 2wd Chevy 3/4 ton gas and I have to use to bring motorhomes and trailers back. We had a 4x4 1/2 ton and worked great.

I will try the disconnect route.

I see now. . .

So, would leaving the truck in neutral while hi idleing be an option?

Not to hijack. . . but any one want to crunch the numbers and see what 1st gear plus 65mph = in RPM's ?
