towing advice needed

I picked up a new toy hauler last Thursday. The dealer installed a Curt 20k hitch in my Dodge 3500 dually. The GVWR is 16500 while the UVW is 12200. When I hook the trailer to my dually it feels it. Should it squat this much (see picture) or should I make some adjustments?

The pin box looks like I could lower it 1 hole (2") and the hitch is sitting at 15" off the bed, it can be adjusted to 13" or 17". The trailer sits roughly 5" over the bed rails.

I'm not sure if it's too much trailer or if I just need to fine tune the setup.

It still sits pretty level, I put firestone airbags on my truck as my 5th wheel hitch weight is right on the edge of being over, with 20 lbs in the bags she rides better and sits perfect, a friend of mine hauls a 5th wheel over your weight without airbags and does not seem to have a problem.

I got air bags on mine as well and they are great when towing heavy and ride beautiful when empty (0 psi)

I have a sneaking idea you may be seeing a design that loads up the front when empty to allow for the toys to be added in the rear. When loaded, your pinweight will decrease. I pull 16K fiver with dually and I do not squat like you do. But, mine is not a toy hauler hence suspended to balance out a little better. Put some weight in the back and see what happens. Then make up your mind.

Looks good to me. A lil heavy on the pin. Put yer toys in and it probably will be about right.

Better heavy than light on the pin for control.

Unless you have a teflon disk on the pin, get some lube on the plate.
