Ceramic pads, and towing
Ceramic pads, and towing
I tried to do a search, but it's not working. Here's the deal. I've got to do the brakes on my truck, listed in signature, and thought about going to ceramic pads. My brother and a co-worker praise the ceramics, but neither of them tow a lot/heavy loads. I pull a 35' fiver once a month, and occasionally a 24' enclosed car hauler. Would the ceramics work, or would I be better off and safer to not use ceramics.
I'm primarily looking for feedback, from those who have done this, or who are currently doing this. Thanks guys/gals.

Most ceramic pads are not rated for towing. That information is hard to come by, though. I'v had to dig through manufacturers web sites to find it.
The only advantage to ceramic pads is that they vibrate at such a high frequency you can't hear them. So people don't take the car back to the shop for squealing brakes.
There is no performance advantage to ceramic pads. AFAIK, there are no performance ceramic pads.
