Tire Decisions
I'm sure everyone out there with a 2003+ dodge is running into the same problem as me (darn 17 inch wheels). What tires to get! It is crazy. I cant find a good tire to replace the worn out stock ones. I want to put on a medium aggressivness load range E 305 or so. Something like a nitto tera grapler (although im not sure, I hear they dont clean in mud) or bfg all terrain. Does anyone out there know of a tire that is about a 305 that is load range E with decent tread for the mud. Im a farmer and off road a lot, many times with a load.
Another thing, I always though I needed an E range tire (I pull a LOT) but it seems that the bigger D range tires have the same load range. Could I get away with a D or is their sidewall weaker? I run 80psi in my E's now and they do well.
So to recap, is there a tire out there that...
1- 305/70/17
2- Decent off road traction
3- Load range E
4- Gets at least 40 thousand miles
I haven't found it. What are you guys running?
Thanks,
Austin Kolb

I don't tow anything, but do much prefer load range E with these trucks. BFG has a couple of sizes now in a 17in load range E AT/KO, including the stock 265-70/17. I have a set of Goodyear 'Silent Armor' Wranglers, and while Wranglers have a bad reputation these seem to be very good tires so far; 50k treadwear waranty, load range E, and like the BFG AT/KO they're also severe snow rated. They're even more quiet than the stock Michelins. I don't know if they'll last 50k, so the warranty is nice.

After a lot of looking I went with Toyo MT 295/70/17 load range E and was told they will see 40,000 . They make some road noise and fit on a stock truck with no rubbing and have impressed me so far off road . If they wear good I will be replacing with the same tire when the time comes , I think they would be a good tire for you to look at .
