Tekonsha Sentinal Controller
Tekonsha Sentinal Controller
Well it used to work good. It's about a year old and all was well. Now all of a sudden I can't get the darn thing to work. It works if you use the manual slide but I can't get the lights to go from green to red when leveling box. It is off then turns red. No green indicator. Is it fixable or should I just upgrade to a Voyeger. Help :'(
Re:Tekonsha Sentinal Controller
I'm running the same exact controller for about two years now. Check the book and make sure it is adjusted right. Also, check and make sure you don't have a trailer wiring problem. It may be trying to tell you that. Mine tried to tell me I had trouble with my new GN trailer but I didn't know what it was trying to tell me at the time and blamed it on the controller. Called Tekonsha and they told me exactly what to look for. Guess what, they were right. Rewired the trailer and the problem went away.

Good luck.

Jet,

There is no comparison to your controller and the Prodigy. But, do yourself a favor and get a Jordan. Quite a difference in the amount of control it gives you. I have only heard of one person who stayed with Prodigy after trying both controllers.

Bob

Jetfuel,
My Sentinel has also started acting up. I fear I have a problem on one brake on the big trailer because the older Tekonsha on my 78 W200 also has started acting funny on the same trailer.

Check all of your connections, listen at each wheel on the trailer for a buzz when the bar is used to apply the brakes, and if one brake doesn't sound like the others check it out. Because all of the brakes are controlled off the same output any one with a problem can mess all of them up.

As an aside, anybody else have problems with tree rats (squirrels) gnawing through wiring on trailers? With the recent snow we had I put some bird food out under the gooseneck and I will be danged if a squirrel apparently needed some plastic for dessert and gnawed one of the running light wires in half >

I need to track down the brake problem anyway, gives me an excuse to check everything and update some of the older light fixtures.
I had a squirrel nest inside my kingpin box. They were sleeping on my wiring. Luckily they were not hungry while in there.
Please tell my how they got in there. There is nothing to hang onto to climb in there. ??? ???
