Re:Take the CDL test.

Pappyman, WHAT DO YOU MEAN by Old Timer, I'm sorry but I resemble that remark , not really. I just started driving 18 wheelers when i was 18 years old, my brother drove one and he ran ALL the time, since I worked 11-7 and got off on Friday mornings,(but I was able to do my work and catch some sleep), I would meet him, within a reasonable distance, drive the truck, he would get some sleep, but not at first , and he'd drop me off on Sunday. Hey. I had a new daughter, I had to buy diapers and food. his truck had one of those graph things tied to the speedo so the owner could tell how fast you ran and how long you stopped, people would be surprised with what you can do with the RIGHT drill bits and some "special" pins, we NEVER ran above 60 and "only" stopped when we, uh HE was supposed to, now they use GPS. I won't mention the load of catfish food that I ALMOST turned over the trailer in the guys field because he wouldn't move his trucks and told me "to just pull out der in dat der field, and back up to dis silo, needless to say, the wrecker bill cost me my money that weekend, and almost had to clean out the sleeper , but it was FUN, and I learned alot about the rigs, maybe TOO much, as I was first to jump up into the cab of a truck that one of my old employers bought to say see what I can do, backed it into a "blind hole". 3 nights later, I was on the road after working 16 hours in the shop, left the truck and trailer parked blocking the gate, and told the wife "if you answer the phone before 10:00 a.m. I'll cut up your charge cards"
Needless to say, I got cussed by the boss, and the guys in the shop started calling me DUMMY.
But EVERYONE is born with COMMEN sense, most just choose not to use it

Re:Take the CDL test.

I gues I will throw my 2 Cents in here,I am retired from a fire dept.and have drove commercial vehicles for over twenty years, I would have to agree that if one would study and practice to be able to pass the test,he or she would be a better driver, now needing one to drive a rv that's a choice one would have to make,I also agree that there are a lot of crazy people that will buy a big behemouth rv and hit the open road and well words just cannot describe my feelings about that,as my daughters and wife and I are one the same roads as are all of yours,so Goodluck Rick
