Sway control.

Can I use sway control without a special reciever? I'm not sure I need the weight distribution hitch but many of the sway control setups I've seen connect to the WDH reciever.

sway control

Get a reciever head with a small ball along side the large the ball. Then you can get the same ball size on a bracket thats clamps on your trailer frame. Some company makes that anti sway controller. It' a two pc. flat stock, where one pc. slides into the other pc. It has a set screw of about 3/8 or 1/2 inch to thighten the friction to help stop sway. RV dealers sell them and I think Reese hitch Co. makes them. Myself I would want the sway bars, but then you have to buy a new reciever for your two inch sq. hole in your truck frame hitch, that will handle sway bars.

IMO, a friction sway will not help with that 30 footer. I tow a 30 footer, and i have the reese dual cam setup, I used the friction bar on my old 24 footer.

If you realy want the friction setup, i have one for sale.....slightly used.

The only problem I have is if I go over 65 mph when the trailer is loaded. If not then I'm fine. I'm just not sure if I need anything at all...... Let me know what you would like to get for the used unit.......

Thanks for the replies
