Rust paint

I did a search and could not find what I wanted. I have read here of some paint that you can apply to rusty surface that will stop the rust from spreading.

What is it you guys are using?

Thanks.

Cheff,

The paint I used is called Por-15. It's been 4 years since I have applied it to the rust, and has not reappeared yet. The only down fall of the paint is that it needs to be top-coated, or the UV-rays deterriates (spelling ?) it.

I have used POR15 and Rust Bullet and enjoyed Rust Bullet a lot more!!!!

Rust Bullet is some potent stuff. You do not need to surface prep other than simply degreasing/washing (whatever you like to use) and you do not need to top coat period. Just 2 coats of Rust Bullet.

This wheel was completely rusted over and has 1 coat of Rust Bullet. Unfortunately I am an awful painter and you can see huge clumps of overspray.

In the paint section of Home Depot they sell a green liquid called "Phos-4-plus" or something like that. It eats rust. If you have the time and patience you could apply this stuff first to kill the rust which should give you a longer lasting paint job. If I remember right, on heavily rusted surfaces you leave this stuff on for 24 hours.

What are you painting?

One gallon to do a wheel seems like alot to me. Thought about trying it on the camper frame. Sounds like coverage is not so great. What did a gallon cost ?

Rust Bullet Availability?

Is Rust Bullet available through stores like Home Depot, Lowe's, etc., or just through direct purchase from the company, or the DTR?
How much per gallon?

Thanks.
