Roof mounted wing air deflector
Does anyone use a roof mounted wing when pulling your camper or inclosed trailer?Do you notice much of a difference? Are they worth the cost in fuel savings? Opinions?
Try a search in this forum, this has been discussed before.
In short, those wings look cool and keep the bugs off the trailer, but don't do too much in the way of improving fuel economy. But there are a few who have reported fuel savings.
Ymmv (sorry 'bout the pun)

The only way to really see a difference is to have a shield like the big rigs...no sharp corners and closed in on the sides. If you just have a sloped plane on the front the air is still gonna move around the sides and cause turbulence.

Plus, they are still on your truck when running solo. Even in the down position it must be more of a wind resistance than nothing. They look cool, though.
With the trailer hooked up it might make .5 mpg difference. Hard to justify the cost on that difference although the way the price of fuel is going it may not be long before it is worth it. It does seem to make for less buffeting in cross winds and bow waves of semi trucks; towing seems more stable. It does do a number on your fuel mileage solo however. From 18 to 14 mpg. Would I buy another one? Probably not. FWIW

Aerowing
I use a Aerowing when I tow on long trips. It does help my milage some when towing but not when empty. Mine is removable and I only use it when the trailer is behind it. It does also improve the handling between the trailer and truck as it is much smoother and seems easier to pull when on versis not on. They look cool also.

I had a Turbo Wing on my truck for almost a year.....I found almost no MPG increase
I got better MPG increase by thoughtfull useage of my throttle foot then I got with a wing

My truck and trailer are about as aerodynamic as the side of a barn so I am looking at ways to improve it including cutting the front of the trailer top to a 45 degree wedge. Also I have got to push the power up in the truck as I was flat footing it most of the time.
You might consider checking into these to help cut the turbulence behind the trailer.
