Thumbs up First trip with the Brakesmart.

first off it was real easy to install...took less then an hour.

Easy to set up and smooth as smooth can be.

I am towing two trailers right now with a total length of 70ft.
Dual 10K tandems on the front trailer and 2-7K axles on the Speedloader. I had a mammoth ten ft high power stair aparatus blocking wind and ran with egt constantly between 1100-1300 into a head wind of 40 MPH. Mileage dropped in that wind from 16 to 12.

The Brakesmart really works nice. I could barely tell when the trailer brakes engaged.

The Pacbrake, advanced Air Ride Hitch and the prototype air bags worked flawlessly.

One stretch of road had expansion cracks every 12-15 ft and with the KORE [T-REX] and the air bags, I barely felt them. I let the air bags down on that stretch on the way back and I bounced lots.

Thought I would let folks know my findings.

Its really nice to get a combination of products working so well at the same time.

Wow thats quite a list of mods. That brake controller definitely looks sharp and it reads like its the cats meow.

I think you only need a KW on the front of that thing with air ride, air ride hitch and 70 ft of cargo...LOL..

KORE is formerly T Rex...suspension. I have the Bilstein shocks with mine. There are several different levels from mild to off road full out Baja racing set ups. It also levels the truck. Replaces the front shock towers and heavier custom coil springs.

I built the air bags with a buddy of mine. Still testing them but so far so good. We need to fine tune a couple items for easier fitment. Not sure if theres a market but my buddy has hand made suspensions for all sorts of trucks and cars. He wants to do my truck without leafs in the rear...Not sure I want the truck tied up that long.

I had a US Gear brake on my 01...worked real well but was louder. I prefer the Pacbrake. Smooth operation and works great tied into the ECM.

Hope this helps.

Hey J, LOL an old boy like me needs air ride after what I have done to my carcass over the years.
LOL

Yup, you have to experience the BrakeSmart to appreciate it. I was very pleasantly surprised when I first towed with mine. Worth every penny.

Boy, must be nice to have all that length to play with. Here the law says 60'. With my 26' fiver and 16' boat I am about 1/2" away from 60'.

Its 25 meters in a few of the provinces but 75-60ft in some of the states I travel. I'll be leaving one trailer at home for some trips.

Edit:
I just found this too...Since I am registered commercial I searched for the commercial rules for my province and others and found it different then the rules for private...page 3... All provinces are the same.

Yea, there is some difference here too between private and commercial (60' vs 75'). I don't know what that comes out to in meters. Anyhow, I think the US should look at the "B" trains. I think they are much much safer than the "A" trains. They don't wiggle as much.

Just got back from over 1,000 miles towing heavy. Over the scales at 13,300 kilograms...or about 30,000 pounds. Brakesmart work flawlessly and smoother then any other controller I have used. Even on ice I had no lock ups. Well, unless I did it on purpose to see if it would.
