What makes them a pita? Not saying there not, never used one. Kinda why I'm here to find out about these things. I am to understand that square tubeing ones are **** to binding. The round tubeing ones are supposed to be much better. Not saying they won't just better.

From what I know, and that really isn't to much, you release the lock on the slider lock the brakes on the trailer and slowly pull forward until the hitch moves back get out and lock it and start backing up. Ok this is in a perfect world what in reality happens.

That'a all I do with my Reese, 16K square tube. Never an issue and simple to use IMO. Flip the lever, thumb squeeze the brake, move gently forward or back as neeed.

Most important for any 5th hitch is the dual pivot.

Lets see,

Stop truck, check traffic, get out of truck, get wet if it is raining, pull lever, get back in truck, hold brake and pull up until it locks in place, check traffic, get out and pull lever, hold brake and back up until it locks in place and you are done!
Now if the trailer is on a slight incline and then you have to chock the trailer and take pressure off the hitch or you will never be able to pull the lever.

I call that a PITA!!!!

Now let see my superglide.

Make turn and don't worry about 5th wheel hitting truck and you are done.
