For a lot fo years, I have used Amsoil grease for trailer bearings, spring pins, hitches, anything to do with pins and bushings on equipment, etc.

Amsoil will not emulsify. For that reason alone, I use it for boat trailers. Every year, you pull the wheels, look at the bearings, and put it back together, every 5 or so, you change the grease because you want to. Nothing worse than salt water in wheel bearings, over the winter, because someone didn't take the time to flush everything in the fall. Also, fall time is actually a better time to do bearings, before storage, this lets you get all the uglies out of there, before it sits on the bearings over the winter.
Blocking it up is a good idea too.

Now, for those who like toys, check out lincoln for their cordless electric grease guns, they take the work out of greasing anything.

Have a good one

My grease gun has a bleeding valve in the pump head, which helps somewhat to get all of the lube out - we use FGL2, which is edible yet wash-down proof while maintaining a very high dropping point.

One other suggestion. Sometimes there is grease left in the old tube. When you put the new tube in, often it is not filled to the top. Use what is left to top off your new tube. This will help eliminate air pockets. You can save your old tube with grease in it to reload in another tube, just cover the ends with newspaper or rag.
Good grease with a high drop point is a good thing. You will pay a bit more for good grease, but it is way cheaper than bearing or other failure.
