I just plugged up my Prodigy and ran it with my trailer. i have a SH and a OL code pop up randomly. it will only display when i am hitting the brakes. The codes are completely random, when i hit the brakes It will throw up a OL code then when i let off the brakes it will sometimes show a SH code. No particular order when the codes are thrown.

I checked the connections with my ohm meter and nothing is showing up. I have it plugged up to the factory connector. I also double checked the wires, but that cant be the problem because it works most of the time.

Any suggestions?

 

OL=overload condition SH=short, sounds like you have a short in the trailer brake wiring or rather a brake wire on the trailer that is worn through and shorting to the frame. check the wires at each of trailer tires to see if the wires are chaffing somewhere. If you don't see anything then you will have to remove the tires and check the wires insides the drums going to the magnets. You will have to repair and reroute them so it doesn't happen again.
