Pace Cargo Sport... any problems?

My wife and I are getting set up to go to fairs around central Ohio and attempt to sell A.E.S. Corn Stoves, I am looking at ordering a Pace Cargo Sport trailer to haul stoves to display. Has anyone had any experience with PACE trialers?

I am looking at model cs816ta2 (8x16 tandom axle) w/ramp door + 60'' extended tounge. Should be a nice load for the truck 'cause we are getting it setup to haul truck camper + pull trailer.

I think these are the ones that they sell at Home Depot.

I would get it with brakes and a 2 5/16" coupler if you can...

I have no experience with Pace, but I have a 8x16 wells cargo with a long tongue heavy axles and brakes on both axles. I really like it. I have also had experience with haulmark car trailers and I like them as well. Never looked into Pace at all.

Give Custom Cabs and Trailers in Jamestown a call... I have always found them to be good to deal with.

Pace are pretty good trailers. I had a 6x15 aerosport (a cargosport with a v-nose) and it was pretty good. The only problem I had with it was they used really thin for the skin because it was "screwless". I race motorcycles and see alot of trailers the size you arelooking at and I like the Pace and Haulmark the best.

Cargosprot is the "high-end" line form Pace. It should have torsion axles, 3/4 plywood floor and like 1/2" walls.

I have a buddy with a Pace. A WorkSport I'm pretty sure (6x10) He is not to thrilled with it. The frame broke on him... He gripes that it flexes alot...

I have a CM, 6x12, rear ramp, nose door, 6'-6" inside height, dual 3500# torsion axles, brakes on both of them, 3/4 floor, all steel. Paid $3800. Incredibly tough and beefy trailer for the money.

If you don't mind me asking - where did you get that setup?

I had a Pace 5x10 single axle cargo years ago- had no problems with it.

Today I'm running an Interstate 6x12 tandem that's loaded to within 30 lbs of it's 7000 lb GVWR. Had to replace the POS torsion axles that bent backing up thru tight turns, with equalized spring type axles.

Just make sure you get brakes on BOTH axles- you'll need them!

You're gonna need an aftermarket receiver to handle a hitch extension to tow that big trailer if your camper overhangs the truck bed. Something like a Reese Titan V or a Torklift...

Thumbs up

I currently have a Pace Cargo Sport 7' x 20' with barn doors, setup for motorcycles, have had it for three years now going on four, absolutely no problems, tows really smooth. I go to Daytona twice a year with it and Laconia, plus I use it for local work and helping out friends. If I buy another one it wil be another Pace only with a ramp door next time.

I went ahead and ordered the Pace, It's 8x16 w/HD ramp door, extra 12" height, wired w/two interior and 1 exterior outlet, 500W halagon light on curbside, 15x30 window, insulated Lined ceiling w/vent pre wired for AC, a fuel door on road side, florescent lights inside and a 60" tounge so I can pull it with the truck camper on. Wife and I are going to start selling corn stoves at local fairs and will use this for displays.

Thanks,
Duane.
