Did the chevy get 20mpg mt?
No it didn't. That's a good point. This truck is about 19.3 empty at 70-75 and the 6.5 got about 16.5 to 17. With 10K on the new engine it's only getting 13.5-14 now. I'm not knocking it, I love it. Just trying to keep things realistic based on my experience. BTW, my wife just read my last post, looked at me like and said, "now this isn't good enough either?". Empty when you get on it a little in 4-5-6, I could not believe the acceleration...unreal. I was just supprised how fast that toned down with some load. Maybe just me, I like to get up and go NOW!

Geee my 99 wouldn't tow anything like that. It would be soooo nice to be able to do that!!! IT's time for coffee.

Please... give me a break. My 1987 ford e-350 with 6.9L diesel without a turbo pulled 10k behind it fine, and it had 460k on it to boot.

Sure you slowed down to 35-40 climbing the grades, but you mashed it in, and the 97% of the time you were in flat land you were doing 70.

Of course a 1999 will pull it.

pulling and towing

No sorry not my gutless wonder. The other year when I got new 275 injectors I could barely get ahead of a Chev 3/4 to gas pot pulling a 22 ft fifth wheel before the next intersection. Yes it is that gutless. Even loaded hiway trucks have much better lift off then this junk 99 that I have. The water truck that I drove with 3000 gals of water had much better lift off and acceleration then mine. Yes very sad but true would state that on a stack of bibles.
