Well I participated in a ski race.... after 12 years of abstinence...

There are some pics.... cam didn't work when I did my ... best... worst... whatever kind of navigating 2 planks that had found their way to my feet down a slope

I would have thought there would be more snow.

Has this been a slow winter over there?

Well, in these exposed regions you don't have too much snow because of the wind. If it hadn't been for the wind it would be about 3-4m (9-12 ft), but the winds did reach almost 100 mph on some days. Also this winter hasn't been too eager to drown us in snow yet. But this can change within hours. Until now we've had the clouds from the north, and this region is quite south in the alps, therefore it hasn't gotten too much snow yet. In some years a low builds up at the Adriatic sea and starts spinning snow clouds up to us which catch on the alps. In 86 we had more than 2m of snow within 18 hours. (In March) Usually this weather phenomenon deposits just about 1-3m within a week.... Let's hope that it comes back like that this year, I simply love snow driving.
