Meaga cab bed the same ... towing ???
I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that the MC DRW is a capable hauler......since it is of the same platform of nearly identical construction and spec'd with the same driveline as other 3500 models, it stands to reason that safety and performace of the MC DRW when hauling should be similar - but it is the legality of putting that rediculous 10.5K GVWR on it that has us up in arms - it simply doesn't make sense that a hauler with a notably heavier curb weight should have nearly 2000 lbs LESS GVWR!!!! It makes for a very large truck that isn't overly useful if staying legit is a priority. I for one won't question the integrity of the MC DRW for hauling just as heavy as the other DRW CTD's......but if anything ever happened that would bring an insurance company into play, I know they really could care less what I think!
I wonder if these will have any different rating than a short box?http://www.megacablongbed.com/news.html
The Megacab trucks are all on the same frame, 1500, 2500, 3500 SRW and 3500 DRW. That's the reason for the dually having a low 10,500# GVWR.
The 1500 MC is only a 1500 by the name on the door. It is in reality a 2500. Here are the other MC GVWRs:
- 1500 - 8510#
- 2500 - 9000#
- 3500 - 9900# (SRW)
- 3500 - 10,500# (DRW)
Note that the more strict CAFE regs apply to vehicle with GVWRs under 8500#.....gee....I wonder why the "1500" MC has a GVWR of 8510#????

Please explain what is different between a 2500 and 3500 frame on any variation of CTD and why that could possibly have anything to do with why the QC DRW 4WD has a 12,200 lb GVWR and the MC DRW 4WD has a 10,500 lb GVWR.....construction, design and driveline appear to be identical between these two models - so why is there a difference in GVWR...never mind the fact that it is a significant difference?
